Miami is a beautiful, vibrant, multi-cultural city that attracts visitors from around the world. Whether you are here for business, pleasure, or visiting family, there are plenty of ways for you to get around.

Miami Airport Transportation Options

If you are flying into Miami International Airport (MIA), you have several options for getting to your accommodation, off-site parking lot, or wherever your next destination happens to be. 

Public Transportation: Miami International makes it easy for you to use public transportation options when getting to and from the airport. The MIA Mover, a small shuttle train, is located on the third level of the airport, between the Flamingo and Dolphin garages. It will take you to ground transportation options such as buses, trains, commuter trains, and a offers a bus that takes you to Miami Beach.

Shuttles: Hotels and off-site parking services have complimentary shuttles that will take you to and from the airport.

Taxis, Ride Share, Rental Cars: Taxis and ride share pickup areas are located outside the baggage claim area. Renting a car? The MIA Mover will take you to the rental car area.

Alternate Methods of Transportation in Miami

After you get into the city and are settled at your destination, you’ll want to start exploring. Fortunately, Miami has a robust public transportation system that can get you pretty much anywhere you want to go in the city and surrounding area. Other options include bike rentals and car sharing.

Miami Rail and Bus Service

Miami has a significant range of public transportation options, including buses, a rail system, and the Metro Mover, a free train that takes passengers to popular destinations in the downtown area. Fares vary by mode of transportation but start at $2.25 a ride for buses and trains. One-day passes for the local area are available for $5.65, and a weekly pass is $29.25.

Bike Share

Miami is a city that begs to be seen, and when the sun is out, you’ll want to be outside as much as possible. One way to do this is to rent a bicycle: Citi Bike Miami is the city’s bike sharing program: Rentals start at $4.50 for 30 minutes, and daily passes are $24. Check out the Citi Bike Miami website to find a station map.
