Denver's Best Public & Airport Transportation

Denver is a world-class destination with everything from superb museums and theaters to excellent public parks and superior dining experiences. And, of course, Denver is the gateway to some of the best fresh-powder, high-mountain skiing in the world. Once on the ground in the Mile High City, visitors enjoy a wide range of transportation options to get where they need to be.

Denver Airport Transportation Options

Even though the city center is 23 miles from the Denver International Airport (DEN), traveling there is fairly streamlined once you know all your options. Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll find ground transportation on Level 5 at both the East and West terminals.

Shuttles: Hotels offer complimentary shuttles that will take you to and from the airport. Plan to use Avail Car Sharing while in the city? Our service will send a free shuttle to take you and your baggage directly to your vehicle, which will be waiting in a conveniently located lot adjacent to the airport.

Public transportation: For $10.50, you can take the Regional Transportation District (RTD) University of Colorado A Line or RTD SkyRide bus service to downtown Denver. These two services provide transportation to and from Denver International Airport and direct access to airline check-in, baggage check, security screening, and baggage claim. The A Line brings you to various points in downtown Denver, and one of its most popular destinations is Union Station, in the heart of downtown Denver. The journey takes just 37 minutes, and trains depart every 15 minutes during peak travel times.

Tip
Reserve your Avail car in advance and take the free shuttle to our lot adjacent to DEN. Your car will be waiting for you no matter what time you arrive.

ScootTours Denver offers rent and ride scooter options ($65 for 2 hours, $85 for 3 hours, and $95 for a full day until 8 p.m.).If you're not into scooters, a pedicab is a popular way to get around downtown Denver and many people use them to get to and from Broncos, Rockies, Nuggets, and Avalanche games. Mile High Pedicabs is the oldest pedicab service in Denver. If you see a pedicab, ask a driver if they are available to take you where you want to go. Suggested fare is $2 per block, and tips are appreciated.
